Meta launches Muse Wonder AI models to compete with OpenAI and Anthropic

Meta has launched its new frontier AI models, Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full, through its Superintelligence Labs division. Developed under the codename ‘Watermelon’, these models are designed to compete with industry leaders such as OpenAI and Anthropic, specifically targeting complex tasks in coding, legal, finance, and healthcare sectors.

The models feature two key capabilities: ‘Active Memory’, which allows for long-term context retention across conversations, and ‘Active Focus’, which enables the AI to persist through difficult tasks and attempt alternative approaches when encountering obstacles. Both models support a context window of approximately one million tokens.

Access to the models is tiered. Muse Wonder is available to developers via the Meta Model API and Muse Code, with pricing set at $4 per million input tokens and $20 per million output tokens. The more powerful Muse Wonder Full model is currently exclusive to Muse Code subscribers. These models are intended to power the Muse personal AI agent, which aims to provide autonomous assistance for real-world tasks like bookings and research.
