Meta launches Pocket AI mini‑game creator app

Meta has released Pocket, a new application that lets users generate small interactive games and other “gizmos” through a conversational AI interface, removing the need for programming skills. Users type a description of the desired experience, the AI converts the text into functional code, and the result can be shared via direct links inside a scrollable feed that resembles platforms such as TikTok or Reels.

Pocket is built on technology acquired earlier this year when Meta bought the startup Gizmo, originally developed by New York‑based Atma Sciences. The acquisition provided the AI‑driven code‑generation engine that powers the app. Pocket appeared on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store on 29 June, discovered by a reverse‑engineer before any formal Meta announcement, indicating that the product is still in an experimental rollout stage.

The launch follows Meta’s broader push into generative AI, adding to existing tools like Meta AI for image creation, Vibes for video generation, and AI‑enhanced features in the Edits video editor. By democratizing game creation, Meta aims to expand user‑generated content within its ecosystem and foster a community where creations can be remixed and distributed quickly.
