Meta reports Q3 2026 revenue growth and raises AI investment guidance

Meta Platforms reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of $64.6 billion, a 26 percent increase year-over-year, surpassing Wall Street expectations. Net income for the quarter rose 264 percent to $9.86 billion, resulting in earnings per share of $3.83.

The results were significantly impacted by a $9.89 billion legal settlement expense related to litigation concerning teen mental health. Without this charge, the company reported operating income of $22.88 billion and earnings per share of $7.40.

Driven by aggressive artificial intelligence ambitions, Meta raised its full-year capital expenditure guidance to a range of $135 billion to $145 billion. Third-quarter capital expenditures reached $34.91 billion. To support these investments while maintaining control, Meta announced plans to issue new Class C non-voting shares starting in January 2027.

Advertising revenue remains the primary driver, growing 26 percent to $63.06 billion. The company also highlighted the launch of its Muse and Muse Wonder AI models, noting that Muse has already reached over 10 million users. For the fourth quarter, Meta projects revenue between $73 billion and $76 billion.
