Users of Meta platforms Facebook and Instagram have reported various technical issues and service interruptions throughout mid-August. According to data from Downdetector, the problems have manifested as difficulties loading feeds, app malfunctions, and server connection errors.

Reports indicate that the issues are not uniform for all users. On Facebook, incidents include slow loading times, inability to use certain platform functions, and difficulties with the Messenger messaging service. Instagram users have similarly reported intermittent issues with the app and feed loading.

While some connectivity problems were noted in Mexico, the United States, and Canada, the outages do not appear to be a total global collapse, but rather localized or intermittent disruptions affecting specific regions and functionalities.
