Meta unveils AI smart glasses, adds Kylie Jenner edition and usage caps

Meta announced a new generation of AI‑powered smart glasses, released in three styles – the rectangular Adventurer, the bold Fury, and a slim oval edition designed with Kylie Jenner. The glasses integrate Meta AI with voice commands, an on‑device camera, real‑time translation, navigation cues and up to 40 hours of battery when used with the charging case. Prices start at $299 for the standard models and $399 for the Kylie‑branded version, and the devices are sold through Meta’s website and major retailers in multiple markets.

Alongside the launch, Meta introduced a usage‑based subscription model for the Conversation Focus feature, which amplifies speech in noisy environments. Free users receive a limit of three hours per month, while a $19.99‑per‑month Meta One Premium plan raises the cap to fifteen hours. The change has drawn criticism because the feature runs on‑device without cloud processing, raising questions about the rationale for the cap. The new glasses and the subscription tier are being rolled out across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates and other countries.

Meta also added new Instagram story tools for the glasses, including spin‑view and multi‑camera formats, expanding creative options for users.
