Metal Master granted social safety net access for Aura workers
The Italian Ministry of Labour and Social Policies has announced that Metal Master, the company that took over Aura, is eligible to access extraordinary wage supplements through solidarity contracts. This measure is intended to protect workers still associated with the previous company structure.
L'Aquila Mayor Pierluigi Biondi and councilor Fabio Frullo welcomed the decision, describing it as a step forward in a complex situation that has impacted dozens of workers and their families. The local administration has been involved in negotiations with institutions and unions to prevent plant closure and safeguard local professional assets. While this provides immediate income support, decisions regarding the extension of extraordinary redundancy funds through 2027 are still pending.
