Metallica begins residency at Las Vegas Sphere with rotating setlists
Metallica has commenced its ‘Life Burns Faster’ residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, featuring a series of shows with rotating setlists. The residency, which began on October 1, is designed so that no songs are repeated between performance nights.
During the third show on October 8, the band debuted the classic track ‘Fade to Black’ for the first time at the venue, substituting it for ‘The Day That Never Comes.’ The band also performed the instrumental ‘Orion’ in place of ‘The Call of Ktulu.’
The residency is the first metal band event hosted at the high-tech venue. It includes a massive production utilizing immersive imagery that surrounds the audience. The tour is scheduled to run through March 2027, with shows occurring every Thursday and Saturday.
