Metallica begins immersive residency at Las Vegas Sphere

Metallica has launched its ‘Life Burns Faster’ residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, marking the first time a metal band has performed at the immersive venue. The residency utilizes the arena’s massive 16K LED screen and spatial audio to create custom visuals for songs such as ‘Battery’ and ‘Blackened’.

Following their ‘No Repeat Weekend’ concept, the band is performing entirely different setlists for consecutive shows. Recent performances have featured rare deep cuts like ‘Devil’s Dance’ and ‘The Outlaw Torn’, as well as the return of ‘...And Justice for All’ to the setlist. The residency is scheduled to run through March 2027.

In related news, frontman James Hetfield was recently spotted on the stadium big screen at an Allegiant Stadium football game, where he was seen sharing a moment with his fiancée, Andriana Gillett. Additionally, the Hard Rock Cafe Las Vegas has opened a Metallica pop-up exhibit featuring rare memorabilia, including handwritten lyrics by Lars Ulrich and instruments used by Jason Newsted and Kirk Hammett.
