Metallica launches residency at Las Vegas Sphere

Metallica has launched its ‘Life Burns Faster’ residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, becoming the first metal band to perform at the high-tech venue. The residency consists of 24 scheduled concerts running through March 13, 2027, with performances typically held on Thursday and Saturday nights.

The opening night on October 1 featured a 16-song setlist that included rare performances of tracks such as ‘Battery’, ‘...And Justice for All’, and ‘Now That We’re Dead’. The band utilized the Sphere’s advanced immersive technology, including its massive 16K LED screen and specialized audio systems, to create a highly visual experience featuring 3D graphics and cinematic imagery.

To complement the residency, Metallica has partnered with Adidas to release a new clothing collection. While the residency shows have seen high demand and rapid sell-outs, some ticket resale prices have shown slight fluctuations. The band is also scheduled to continue their M72 World Tour in North America during the spring of 2027.
