Metalworkers of the ABC approve 5.4% wage increase

Workers represented by the Sindicato dos Metalúrgicos do ABC (SMABC) have approved a 5.4% wage increase and the renewal of social clauses in their Collective Labor Agreement for two years, lasting until 2028. This agreement was negotiated with several employer groups, including G3, G2, Sindratar, and G8.3.

The 5.4% adjustment aims to compensate for inflation as measured by the INPC, plus a real wage increase. The union president, Wellington Damasceno, stated that the result recognizes the importance of workers to industrial development and the country's growth.

The union has issued a strike notice for employer groups that have not yet presented a proposal. If these groups do not match the approved conditions by Monday, the union intends to proceed with strike actions to ensure the same wage increases and rights are secured.
