Metamat annual accounts approved with R$ 20.8 million surplus

The Court of Accounts of Mato Grosso has approved the 2024 annual management accounts for the Companhia Mato-Grossense de Mineração (Metamat), noting a budget surplus of R$ 20.8 million.

According to rapporteur Counselor Alisson Alencar, the company's revenues reached R$ 77.7 million against committed expenses of R$ 56.9 million. While the overall results were deemed positive in terms of legality, efficiency, and economicity, several irregularities were identified. These include the hiring of a meal voucher intermediary without a bidding process or contract, totaling R$ 3.11 million, as well as a lack of justification for certain prices and quantities in tenders, advance payment of board remuneration, and the failure to conduct a 2024 asset inventory.

Due to these administrative failures, the rapporteur voted to apply fines to the former CEO and the former administrative and financial director. However, Alencar noted that the identified flaws did not compromise the company's overall results or the gravity of the management's conduct.
