Metamorfosi Interchange traffic restrictions imposed for five months

From 13 July, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport will narrow all lanes of the Metamorfosi interchange on the Athens‑Lamía corridor for about five months. Night works between 21:00 and 06:00 will see lane‑width reductions, lower speed limits and temporary closures of the Lamía exit, with heavy‑vehicle detours and use of the emergency lane.

The upgrade aims to separate traffic streams from the Athens‑Lamía and Athens‑Elefsina directions, reduce daily queues at the busy junction and improve safety. Work is scheduled to continue until mid‑December, with the possibility of earlier completion if progress allows.
