MetaOptics withdraws Nasdaq listing application and defers U.S. dual listing
MetaOptics Ltd, a Singapore-based semiconductor optics firm, has withdrawn its application for a dual listing on the Nasdaq and is deferring its plans for a U.S. listing.
Executive Chairman Thng Chong Kim cited several factors for the decision, including geopolitical uncertainty, volatility in U.S. capital markets, and the rapid pace of technological disruption within the optics and semiconductor value chain. The company also noted an adverse perception regarding the stock price volatility of Asian small-cap issuers on the Nasdaq.
While the dual listing remains a long-term strategic goal to remain close to key U.S. clients, the company is currently focusing its capital and management resources on converting its customer pipeline into purchase orders and increasing its metalens manufacturing capacity. MetaOptics stated that the withdrawal will not impact its current business operations or growth strategies and may revisit international listing plans when market conditions are more supportive.
