Metaplasco launches solar nano-grid project in southern Madagascar
Metaplasco has launched a solar nano-grid project aimed at providing electricity to 26 localities in southern Madagascar. The initiative is expected to benefit nearly one thousand customers by producing energy close to rural populations to support local economic activities and improve living conditions.
The project will deploy solar installations across several communes, including Ambatry, Basibasy, Antongo, Ejeda, and Soamanonga. These infrastructures are designed to scale according to local demand and usage. By utilizing decentralized nano-grids, the project addresses the high costs and logistical difficulties associated with extending conventional national power lines to remote areas.
Irfane Alimamod, Director General of Metaplasco, stated that the ambition is to provide solutions that correspond to the specific territories of operation, ensuring energy accompanies community development and evolves with their needs.
