Meteo LT launches interactive climate projection portal

Meteo LT has introduced a new interactive portal, ‘Meteo LT klimato prognozės’, designed to provide detailed climate projections for every municipality in Lithuania through the year 2100.

The platform offers over 30 climate indicators, including average air temperature, precipitation levels, frequency of hot and cold days, droughts, and strong winds. Users can visualize these changes via interactive maps and graphs based on two global scenarios: SSP2-4.5 (medium emissions) and SSP3-7.0 (high emissions). These projections are derived from CMIP6 international climate model data and are compared against the 1991–2020 averages.

The portal is intended for a wide range of users, including municipalities and state institutions planning climate adaptation, businesses assessing long-term risks, researchers, and residents interested in local environmental trends. The service provides long-term climate trends rather than specific daily weather forecasts.
