Meteorologists Michelle Adam and Allison Göhler clash over weather forecasts

A public disagreement has emerged between Chilean meteorologists Michelle Adam and Allison Göhler regarding weather reports for the northern regions of the country. The dispute centers on the prediction of tornadic clouds and severe weather in the Atacama and Coquimbo regions.

During a broadcast on Chilevisión, Göhler questioned the likelihood of such events, stating that the conditions for tornadoes in the Atacama region were extremely remote. In response, Michelle Adam, appearing on Canal 13, defended her projections by highlighting the occurrence of storms, hail, and vertical cloud development, describing the weather as “completely unusual, anomalous and has caught attention.”

Adding to the debate, Mega meteorologist Alejandro Sepúlveda commented on the situation. While maintaining a neutral stance as a journalist, Sepúlveda noted that while many predicted electrical storms, Adam specifically announced the probability of tornadoes in the Antofagasta region. He indicated that he found Adam's perspective more aligned with the observed circumstances, despite discussions regarding the specific humidity levels required for such phenomena.
