Metepec reports 5,054 new jobs and ramps up tourist safety patrols

In the first part of 2026, the municipality of Metepec, State of Mexico, announced the creation of 5,054 new jobs and the opening of 1,355 new economic units. Mayor Fernando Flores Fernández said the figures reflect a government strategy that provides transparent, fiscally sound policies and streamlined procedures such as the Sistema de Apertura Rápida de Empresas (SARE) and the Ventanilla Única to encourage investment.

At the same time, the municipal administration launched a special tourism‑security operation for the holiday season. The Tourism Police are conducting permanent patrols in plazas, commercial corridors and popular tourist sites, offering orientation and rapid response through the emergency line 911 and a dedicated hotline *7311. Authorities urged residents to keep doors locked, avoid posting real‑time vacancy notices on social media and drive responsibly.
