Methamphetamine seized at Mexico City airport hidden in gaming accessories
Mexican authorities intercepted a shipment of methamphetamine concealed within video game accessories at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM). During a routine inspection at the Mechanized Postal Center, X-ray equipment identified irregular shapes and densities within a package destined for the United Kingdom.
Following an alert from a canine unit named ‘Espartacus’, officials performed a physical inspection and disassembled three double charging bases for gaming controllers. This search revealed six plastic wrappers containing approximately 367 grams of a white granular substance identified as methamphetamine.
The seized material has been placed under the custody of Correos de México in the Special Procedures area as investigations continue.
