Metin Külünk alleges 15 July coup plot behind Turkey’s price hikes

Former AK Party MP Metin Külünk told a YouTube interview that the sharp increase in real‑estate prices and chain‑store food costs is part of an organized operation linked to the planners of the 15 July coup attempt. He argued that the speculative moves cannot be explained by normal market conditions and urged the Justice Ministry to reopen unsolved assassination files, including those of Muhsin Yazıcıoğlu and Üzeyir Garih, citing possible FETÖ involvement. Külünk also referenced Turkey’s criminal code provisions that criminalise artificial price manipulation, calling the price rises a tool used against the government.

He called for legal action against those behind the price spikes and highlighted the need for transparent investigations into the alleged connections between economic speculation and the 15 July plot.
