Metković hosts book presentation on life of martyr Don Radovan Jerković

Matija Maša Vekić’s new book, ‘Stopama mučenika don Radovana Jerkovića’ (In the Footsteps of Martyr Don Radovan Jerković), was presented at the Gallery of the City Cultural Center in Metković. Organized by the local branch of Matica hrvatska, the event featured remarks from the author and Don Damir Bistrić, the parish priest of Bagalović.

The biography examines the life, work, and tragic fate of Don Radovan Jerković, a prominent Croatian priest, martyr, and historian from the Neretva region. The book details his journey from his birth in Krvavac through his ordination, pastoral work, and scientific contributions, concluding with his martyrdom and the subsequent actions of communist authorities following his death.

According to organizers, the work aims to further validate Jerković’s legacy within the Neretva area and serve as a foundation for future historical research into his life.
