Thompson concert in Imotski prompts extensive police traffic restrictions
The Marko Perković Thompson concert scheduled for 8 August 2026 at Imotski’s Gospin Dolac stadium is expected to draw large crowds. The Split‑Dalmatian police authority has issued a detailed traffic and safety plan, closing several central streets from 7 August and converting key routes to one‑way flow on concert day. Vehicles with special permits are exempt, and additional parking zones have been arranged.
In the Neretva valley, a series of rowing events culminates with the 29th Marathon of Boats on 8 August. Speed races in Opužane determine start positions for the marathon, while a women’s marathon and a Festival of Traditions precede the main race. Over 30 crews and thousands of spectators are expected.
Other regional summer events include a free hike organized by Vikendom on Medvednica (9 August), the traditional kart race “Kup Vuka Mandušića” in Skradin (8 August), a night market in Drniš featuring 37 local vendors, and the multi‑day “Festival u Centru” in Sarajevo’s Hastahana park (15‑20 August). These activities highlight local culture, sport, and tourism across Croatia and neighboring Bosnia‑Herzegovina.
