MeTL Group to invest $250 million in Mozambique
Tanzanian conglomerate Mohammed Enterprises Tanzania Limited (MeTL Group) has announced plans to invest $250 million in Mozambique. The investment aims to create approximately 20,000 jobs for Mozambicans.
MeTL CEO Mohammed Dewji shared the news following a meeting with Mozambican President Daniel Chapo in Maputo. While the specific sectors for the investment have not been detailed, MeTL operates extensively in agriculture, manufacturing, consumer goods, energy, oil and gas, logistics, and financial services.
The move aligns with Mozambique’s National Development Strategy (2025-2044), which focuses on economic diversification, industrialization, and strengthening domestic production. This investment comes as Mozambique seeks to attract increased foreign capital to support sustainable growth and post-election stability.
