Metlen and Shell sign long-term LNG supply agreement

Metlen and Shell Global LNG Limited have signed a binding long-term agreement for the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG). This deal follows a Memorandum of Understanding signed in February 2026.

Under the terms of the five-year agreement, which is set to begin in 2027, Shell will supply Metlen with six LNG cargoes annually. This volume corresponds to approximately 0.6 billion cubic meters per annum (bcma). The cargoes will primarily be sourced from Shell’s LNG portfolio in the United States, destined for the Greek market or other European natural gas markets.

The partnership aims to combine Shell’s global LNG capabilities and maritime expertise with Metlen’s established presence in Southeast Europe. Metlen stated the agreement is a strategic step toward diversifying its energy supply sources and enhancing its role within the evolving European energy landscape.
