Metratir Automóviles sanctioned for failing to protect workers from extreme heat

The Labor Inspection has issued a serious infraction against Metratir Automóviles, based in Seseña, for failing to comply with occupational risk prevention regulations regarding high temperatures. The action follows a complaint filed by the UGT union.

Metratir operates in the transport sector and maintains an outdoor yard with a capacity for 20,000 vehicles, where inspections, maintenance, and vehicle movements are performed. Workers operate during shifts where temperatures inside vehicles can reach 60 degrees Celsius. The inspection found a failure to evaluate risks related to extreme temperatures and a failure to provide necessary personal protective equipment. The company has been ordered to conduct a proper risk assessment considering solar radiation, acclimatization, and clothing.
