Metro Bus to deploy 104 new buses in Colombo

Metro Bus is scheduled to deploy 104 new buses across seven routes in Sri Lanka’s Western Province starting September 29. The expansion aims to provide more comfortable and secure public transportation for commuters.

According to Metro Bus Chairman S. M. U. P. Thilakaratne, a primary goal of the new fleet is to alleviate traffic congestion in Colombo. By offering reliable scheduled services, the initiative seeks to reduce the number of private vehicles entering the city, particularly single-occupancy commuter cars.

The official launch is expected to take place under the patronage of the President.
