Metro de Madrid renames Los Espartales station to Los Espartales‑Coliseum

Metro de Madrid is updating the names of two stations to improve wayfinding for passengers. The Los Espartales stop on Line 12, located in Getafe, will be renamed Los Espartales‑Coliseum to clearly indicate its proximity to the Getafe Club de Fútbol stadium. The station will also receive special décor featuring the club’s colours, emblem and the lyrics of its anthem.

The Sierra de Guadalupe stop on Line 1 will be renamed Sierra de Guadalupe‑Universidad to highlight its closeness to the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid’s South Campus. Signage, maps and announcements will be changed in stages, with the Los Espartales‑Coliseum name taking effect at the start of the LaLiga season and the university‑related name rolling out in the following weeks.
