Metro de Santiago plans Line 10 expansion to Maipú
Metro de Santiago is planning the development of Line 10, a project envisioned as an extension and modernization of the existing Line 4A. According to Metro executives Felipe Bravo and Patricio Rey, the project is currently in a preliminary stage.
The plan involves upgrading the current 8-kilometer, six-station Line 4A and extending it by approximately 10 kilometers along the Américo Vespucio axis. This extension would add seven new stations, bringing the total to 13 stations for the completed line. The route is expected to travel from Vicuña Mackenna through La Cisterna, Lo Espejo, and Cerrillos, eventually reaching the Del Sol station in Maipú to connect with Line 5.
If implemented, Line 10 would provide critical connections to Line 4, the future Line 9, Line 2, and Line 5, as well as Metrotren Nos. The project also includes the complete modernization of Line 4A, including the replacement of its current trains.
