Metro Line 2-Green expansion faces delays in Guarulhos

A new contractual amendment for the expansion of Metro Line 2-Green has significantly altered the construction timeline for the section extending from Penha toward the Presidente Dutra highway in Guarulhos. The completion of civil works for Lot 02 is now scheduled for March 31, 2032, a delay from the original deadline of February 21, 2027.

This revised schedule places pressure on the state government's goal of bringing the line to Guarulhos by 2032. Because the completion of civil works is only one stage of development, additional time is required for system integration, testing, and commissioning before commercial operations can begin. The contract's validity has also been extended from September 2027 to October 31, 2032.
