Metro Manila relaunches free electric Love Bus service

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has relaunched the iconic ‘Love Bus’ as a free, zero-emission electric shuttle service in Metro Manila. The service aims to provide commuters with sustainable transport options between major commercial and civic hubs in Quezon City, Pasig, and Mandaluyong.

Operating from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM daily, the electric buses can carry up to 36 passengers and run at intervals of 15 to 20 minutes. The route connects Robinsons Galleria in the Ortigas business district to Eastwood City. Key stops include the MMDA headquarters, Arcovia City, Bridgetowne Estate, and various locations along C-5.

The ‘Love Bus’ name is a revival of a service originally introduced in the 1970s, which was noted as the country’s first air-conditioned public bus service. The modern iteration replaces the original fleet with fully electric units to support the government’s push for more electric vehicles in the public transport network.
