Metro station closures in Bogotá and Santo Domingo disrupt transit

In Bogotá, Colombia, the temporary TransMilenio station on Avenida Jiménez will undergo partial closures starting Friday, 11 July, as construction of Metro Line 1 progresses. The north‑bound carriageway and the central carriageway will remain closed, with passenger entry and exit limited to the access on Calle 8. The closures run from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. on weekdays and from 4 p.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday, extending through holidays.

In Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, the Metropolitan Transport Authority (EMT) announced that on Tuesday night, beginning at 10 p.m., a lane of the public road adjacent to the Gregorio Urbano Gilbert station on Metro Line 1 will be closed for preventive maintenance of the station’s metal structures. The work affects the south‑north platform (track 1) and is intended to ensure infrastructure safety and reliable service.

Both cities have warned commuters to check official channels for updates and to follow signage and staff instructions to avoid inconvenience.
