Metro systems in Venezuela and Chile report operational updates
Metro Los Teques in Venezuela has implemented a maintenance plan to improve safety and comfort for passengers. At the Guaicaipuro station, 50 new lights were installed, providing 90 percent operational performance in the lower mezzanine and 95 percent coverage on the platforms to improve visibility for passengers and train maneuvers.
Additional efforts include sanitation and weeding in the California and El Carmen sectors to prevent flooding during the rainy season. The company is also preparing for sediment extraction in Phase III of the Los Teques-Caracas line. Furthermore, staff have undergone five weeks of theoretical and practical training led by Protección Civil Miranda, covering seismology and evacuation protocols to establish an emergency brigade.
In Chile, the Metro de Santiago network is operating normally across all seven lines, covering 149 kilometers and 143 stations. The system, which serves over 50 million passengers monthly, maintains standard operating hours and fare structures for the holiday period.
