Metropolitan Damaskinos leads religious services in Aetolia and Acarnania

Metropolitan Damaskinos of Aetolia and Acarnania led several religious services in early October 2026. On October 10, he presided over the launch of the annual activities for the Pastoral Sector of Readers and Altar Boys at the Holy Chapel of Saint Demetrios. During this service, he ordained Vasilios Asprogiannis as a new Reader.

Metropolitan Damaskinos highlighted the importance of the specialized sector in preparing and educating young people for potential future clerical roles, noting that approximately 25 readers have been ordained over the last four years. He credited Archpriest Ioannis Giaphis for overseeing the educational program.

On October 9, the Metropolitan presided over a Divine Liturgy at the Holy Metropolitan Church of Zoodochou Pigi in Agrinio. The service marked the fourth anniversary of his consecration as Bishop. The event included the participation of Archimandrite Gabriel, the Superior of the Holy Monastery of Saint David the Elder, who brought the Holy Relic of Saint David for the occasion.
