Greek Orthodox Church conducts multiple ceremonies across Greece in June 2026

On 14 June 2026 the anniversary celebration of Saint Cosmas of Aetolia was held at the Holy Monastery of Saint Cosmas in Thermo, featuring scholarly presentations on his cultural legacy and role in the Greek Enlightenment.

The day before, 13 June 2026, a polyarchiarchal Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the Metropolitan Temple of the Great Virgin Mary in Neapoli, Crete, with participation from several metropolitans, local clergy and civic officials.

Also on 13 June, the Holy Temple of Saint Christophoros in Agrinio hosted an ordination service where Metropolitan Damaskinos of Aetolia and Acarnania ordained Deacon Ioannis Papakostopoulos, a married graduate with advanced degrees, to the priesthood; the new priest was formally installed on 14 June at the Holy Metropolitan Temple of the Life‑Giver of Agrinio.

Finally, on 14‑15 June 2026 the name‑day celebrations of Metropolitan Ieronimos of Kalavryta and Aigialeia were observed, including a Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Kalavryta, a memorial service, and a series of polyarchiarchal vespers attended by numerous metropolitans and clergy.
