Metropolitan Dimitrios visits Panagia Dobro monastery in Veria
On Tuesday, 14 July, Metropolitan Dimitrios of Geron Prigkonnissos visited the Holy Metropolitan Cathedral of Veria, Naousa and Kampania. He was received in the episcopal hall by Metropolitan Pantaleimon of Veria, Naousa and Kampania and Bishop Athanagoras of Domanikos.
In the afternoon the Metropolitan participated in the Vespers and the Prayer at the Holy Temple of Saint Luke the Healer in the Panagia Dobro Monastery. Metropolitan Pantaleimon delivered the divine liturgy and congratulated him on the 52nd anniversary of his ordination. In his address, Metropolitan Dimitrios spoke about the lack of peace worldwide, called for prayers for universal peace, and emphasized the intercession of the saints.
The visit coincided with the commemoration of martyrs Kērikos and Ioulitta, who were martyred during the persecution of Emperor Diocletian in the early 4th century. Their story was recounted as part of the service.
