Metropolitan Ignatius marks start of school year in Magnesia

Metropolitan Ignatius of Demetrias presided over the official religious blessings for the start of the new school year in Magnesia, Greece. The ceremonies took place at various locations, including the 6th and 8th Primary Schools of Volos and the new facility housing the 14th and 15th Kindergartens of Nea Ionia.

During his addresses, the Metropolitan emphasized the importance of early childhood education, noting that a child's character is shaped within the first five years of life. He also highlighted the country's pressing demographic crisis, observing that the decline in student populations is becoming increasingly evident in schools across the nation.

The events were attended by local officials, including the Mayor of Volos Achilleas Beos, members of Parliament from Magnesia, and regional representatives, alongside teachers, parents, and students.
