Metropolitan Museum of Art and LG partner to bring art to smart TVs

LG Electronics has partnered with the Metropolitan Museum of Art to integrate 100 masterpieces from the museum's collection into the LG Gallery+ service. This feature is available on LG televisions running the webOS operating system.

The digital catalog spans 5,000 years of art history and includes works by renowned artists such as Paul Cézanne, Édouard Manet, Utagawa Hiroshige, Winslow Homer, Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Georges Seurat. Users can select specific works to display in rotation, allowing for personalized thematic art paths within their homes.

The initiative aims to fulfill the Met's mission of sharing its collections globally by providing high-definition access to its digital archive through advanced display technologies.
