Metropolitan of Syros calls for resistance to AI dominance in Mykonos
During a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the historic Panagia Turliani Monastery in Ano Mera, Mykonos, Metropolitan of Syros, Doreotheos II, addressed the congregation regarding the preservation of tradition in a modern era.
The ceremony was attended by various officials, including Deputy Minister Ioannis Vroutsis, Member of Parliament Aikaterini Monogyiou, and representatives from local government, the Coast Guard, the Hellenic Police, and the Fire Service.
In his sermon, Metropolitan Doreotheos II emphasized the deep, centuries-old connection between the monastery and the people of Mykonos. He highlighted the virtues of past generations, such as integrity and faith, and issued a call to action for the youth. He urged young people to resist the absolute dominance of technology and artificial intelligence, encouraging them to maintain the flame of faith and tradition to navigate modern challenges. He also noted the responsibility of older generations to pass these values down to the youth.
