Metropolitan Police arrest suspected knife smuggler in London raid

Metropolitan Police officers conducted a dawn raid on a residence in Lambeth, south London, arresting a man in his 20s on suspicion of importing prohibited weapons into the United Kingdom.

During the operation on Wandsworth Road, officers used an electric circular saw to cut through the front door before entering the property. A search of the flat uncovered ten knives, including lock knives and flick knives. Detectives allege the suspect was involved in attempting to import a significant number of weapons from China, including banned zombie knives, which had previously been intercepted by Border Force.

Detective Chief Inspector Kara Moulds stated that these weapons are specifically designed to inflict serious harm and that police are relentlessly targeting those suspected of bringing them into communities to make London safer.
