Metropolitan Police pass Mohamed Al Fayed investigation file to prosecutors

The Metropolitan Police have submitted a full evidential file to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) regarding an investigation into the late Mohamed Al Fayed. The file specifically relates to one suspect, a man in his 80s, concerning two indecent assaults on women in London.

This development follows the recent questioning of a man and a woman, both in their 80s, on suspicion of aiding and abetting rape and sexual assault, as well as assisting in the commission of sexual offences. To date, seven suspects have been interviewed under caution for various offences, including human trafficking for sexual exploitation.

Mohamed Al Fayed, the former owner of Harrods, died three years ago at age 94 without facing charges. Representatives from Justice for Fayed and Harrods Survivors welcomed the submission of the file, describing it as a “significant step” for the victims involved.
