London police release CCTV of suspects in Bethnal Green rape case

The Metropolitan Police have released CCTV footage of two men as part of an ongoing investigation into the rape of a 13-year-old girl in east London. The incident occurred around 11:30 pm on August 1, 2024, in Weavers Fields, Bethnal Green, after the victim was led there from Whitechapel Road by two men.

Despite two years of forensic examinations, witness interviews, and CCTV reviews, the suspects remain at large. To assist in the search, the charity Crimestoppers has offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible.

The victim’s family stated that the impact of the attack has been devastating, noting that their daughter “continues to live in fear for her safety and no longer feels comfortable being on her own.” Detective Chief Inspector Anna Deighton, who is leading the investigation, described the event as an “awful attack on a teenage girl.”
