Metropolitan Serapion of Paramythia calls for pure soul amid a corrupt world

Metropolitan Serapion of Paramythia, Filiate, Geromeri and Parga, delivered a sermon at the church of Saint Paraskevi in Agia Parga. He urged the faithful to keep their souls free from sin, stating that a pure soul leads to a holy life even in an impure world. The Metropolitan highlighted the spiritual benefit drawn from the memories of the holy martyrs, especially Saint Paraskevi, and emphasized that Christ is above decay, time and material wealth.

During the liturgy he also performed a traditional dance (cherotism) and celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Monastery of Saint Paraskevi in the Pountas cave, a site traditionally linked to the saint’s martyrdom. He called for vigilance, readiness, and a strong faith to endure spiritual trials.
