Metropolitan Symeon visits Domokos Prison

Metropolitan Symeon of Phthiotis visited the Domokos Closed Men's Prison on Friday, October 16, 2026, to honor Saint Longinus the Centurion, the patron saint of prison staff and external guards.

During the visit, the Metropolitan celebrated a Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at the Holy Chapel of Saint Apostle Andrew. The service was attended by prison administration representatives, various officials, and Archimandrite Irodion Rizos, who provides spiritual guidance to the inmates. Following the liturgy, the Metropolitan toured several prison wings to offer blessings and support to the inmates.

In recognition of his ongoing spiritual and material support for the correctional facility and the external guard staff, the Association of External Guard Employees of Domokos, represented by President Andreas Pantzias, presented Metropolitan Symeon with an honorary plaque. Additionally, the Director of the Prison School, Nikolaos Mallios, presented him with a commemorative gift.
