Metropolitano de Lisboa launches telephone assistance for elevators
Metropolitano de Lisboa has launched a new telephone assistance service specifically for its elevators, located both inside stations and at external access points. The service is designed to support passengers with reduced mobility by providing a direct line to operational station teams.
Each elevator will feature a sticker containing a specific station code, instructions, and a dedicated phone number (965 980 000). By calling and entering the station code, passengers can be connected to staff on-site to report elevator unavailability, request information on alternative routes, or seek general assistance to continue their journey.
The assistance line will operate daily, including weekends and holidays, throughout the metro network's operating hours, from 06:30 to 01:00. The company stated this initiative is part of an ongoing effort to improve accessibility and the overall customer experience.
