Metropolitans lead religious feast at Panmegistoi Taxiarchon Monastery

Metropolitans Kallinikos of Paros and Naxos and Ignatios of Demetrias and Almyros presided over the religious feast at the Holy Monastery of Panmegistoi Taxiarchon in Pelion on September 5-6, 2026. The event commemorated the miracle of Archangel Michael in Chonae.

The celebrations included a Great Panegyric Vespers and a festive Divine Liturgy. The ceremony was attended by local officials, including Magnesia Member of Parliament Zetta Makri and Vice Governor Anna-Maria Papadimitriou, as well as representatives from military, port, and police authorities.

During the service, Metropolitan Kallinikos described the monastery as a “timeless bastion of prayer” and a “living workshop of holiness.” His sermon connected the Gospel parable of the Royal Wedding with the miracle in Chonae, emphasizing spiritual commitment over material concerns.
