Metropolregion Ost awards first vocational training prizes

The economic development agencies of Berlin-Marzahn-Hellersdorf and the Märkisch-Oderland district have jointly presented the inaugural Ausbildungspreis Metropolregion Ost (Eastern Metropolitan Region Apprenticeship Award). The ceremony took place during the Metropolregion Ost Economic Day on September 8, 2026.

Five companies from the region were honored for their excellence in vocational training: ProColor Pulverbeschichtungs GmbH, Metallbau Franz GmbH, LAN-COM-East GmbH, Stadtwerke Strausberg GmbH, and BG Klinikum Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin gGmbH (ukb).

Officials noted that the award aims to provide visibility to companies investing heavily in youth training, which serves as a critical factor for securing skilled labor and strengthening the regional economy through cross-municipal cooperation.
