Spain infrastructure: Metro and road works underway across regions

Various infrastructure and public works projects are progressing across Spain. In Valencia, Metrovalència has reopened the Alameda-Marítim tram section, including the Aragó, Amistat, Ayora, and Marítim stations, following a two-month renovation to address water infiltration and track wear. The network is also returning to its regular schedule. In Madrid, Metro de Madrid has reopened the Line 6 section between Ciudad Universitaria and Argüelles after track renewal works aimed at future automation.

Road maintenance is underway on the A-2 highway between Cervera and La Panadella, where the Ministry of Transport has launched a 12.3 million euro rehabilitation project to repair structural and surface damage. This work involves intermittent traffic diversions. Additionally, a new 5 km bicycle and pedestrian path has opened in the Mollet del Vallès and Montcada i Reixac area, funded by Next Generation EU funds.

Several municipalities are also upgrading sports facilities. In Oliva, over 1.3 million euros are being invested to renovate municipal sports spaces, including football fields and an athletics track. In Torrent, work continues on the Parc Central athletics track, and in Guadalajara, the Pedro Escartín sports complex is undergoing a nearly one-million-euro renovation of its football fields. In Valencia, the Pont de Fusta football field is preparing for LED lighting upgrades via participatory budgeting.
