Daniel Vorcaro: Investigations reveal luxury spending and media influence

Federal Police investigations into Daniel Vorcaro, former owner of Banco Master, have uncovered extensive evidence of luxury spending, political influence, and international financial maneuvers. Messages retrieved from his devices reveal Vorcaro commissioned a rare Macallan 1945 whisky, valued at approximately R$ 500,000, as a gift for President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The gift was reportedly coordinated through lawyer Walfrido Warde and led to an off-agenda meeting between Vorcaro and the President in December 2024.

Vorcaro also financed a high-end birthday celebration for model Yasmin Brunet at the Rosewood Hotel in São Paulo, costing over R$ 2 million. Additionally, investigators found evidence that Vorcaro used Mosaic Financial in the Bahamas as a hub to move funds internationally, including transfers to entities in Delaware, USA.

Regarding media influence, Vorcaro allegedly exerted editorial control over several outlets. Flávio Carneiro was removed from executive roles at Brazil Journal after messages revealed Vorcaro’s attempts to influence content and protect his interests. Vorcaro also issued orders to suppress negative news regarding Brazilian politicians Hugo Motta, Arthur Lira, and Ciro Nogueira. Furthermore, Deputy André Janones accused Vorcaro of financing an international prostitution network that recruited vulnerable refugees, including women from Ukraine, for private encounters with wealthy men.
