Metrópolis Hotel & Club opens in iconic Madrid building

The historic Metrópolis building in Madrid, located at the intersection of Gran Vía and Alcalá, has opened as the Metrópolis Hotel & Club. The project transforms the iconic 1911 structure into a contemporary hospitality destination featuring a 19-key hotel, a private club, gastronomic offerings, and wellness facilities.

Originally constructed between 1907 and 1911 for La Unión y el Fénix Español, the neo-Renaissance building is a major architectural symbol of the city. Designed by Jules and Raymond Fevrier and executed by Luis Esteve Fernández-Caballero, it is characterized by its Corinthian columns, allegorical sculptures, and its distinctive slate dome with gold details.
