Mets beat Rockies 4-2 as Carson Benge hits home run

The New York Mets defeated the Colorado Rockies 4–2 at Coors Field on Monday. The game was moved up three hours to avoid expected snow and rain. Rookie outfielder Carson Benge opened the sixth inning with a solo home run, providing the Mets’ first hit and the first run of the game. Benge also made a highlight‑reel diving catch in center field earlier in the night.

Mark Vientos added a two‑run single in the same inning, extending the lead to 4–0. Colorado’s only runs came on an RBI triple by Jordan Beck and an RBI single by Kyle Karros in the seventh inning. The Mets’ pitching staff held the Rockies to two runs, with David Peterson allowing two runs over four innings and Craig Kimbrel delivering a scoreless eighth before Devin Williams closed with a save.

The victory marks the Mets’ third win in four games on their road trip, improving their record on the trip to 3‑1, while the Rockies have now lost five straight and six of their last seven games.
