Mets defeat Dodgers 8-3 as Tyrone Taylor's three‑run homer lifts New York

The New York Mets beat the Los Angeles Dodgers 8-3 at Citi Field on Sunday. Tyrone Taylor hit a decisive three‑run home run in the sixth inning to give the Mets a 4‑3 lead, his fifth homer of July. Marcus Semien added another three‑run blast in the seventh to extend the margin.

Freddy Peralta started for New York, allowing three runs over four innings, while the Mets bullpen – Cionel Pérez, Brooks Raley, Luke Weaver and Devin Williams – delivered five consecutive scoreless innings. The Dodgers’ starter Emmett Sheehan gave up only one run in five innings. The win moved the Mets to 44‑62 and left the Dodgers at 67‑39.

The Mets will continue the three‑game home stand against the Atlanta Braves after the victory.
